Steelcoat had no established packaging guidelines, which led to inconsistencies across labels, colors, and product presentation. Recognizing how much this affected brand cohesion and efficiency, I took the initiative to create a comprehensive set of standards.

Brand consistency + visual alignment
-
Audit: Reviewed all existing Steelcoat packaging and identified inconsistencies in color, layout, hierarchy, and branding
System Design: Built a unified packaging framework, including typography rules, color standards, spacing, and layout structure
Application: Applied the new system across packaging artwork and created updated designs for multiple SKUs
Execution: Developed digital mockups to visualize the guidelines across box sizes and product lines
-
Comprehensive Packaging Guideline Document (colors, typography, layout systems, rules, examples)
Updated packaging artwork for multiple SKUs
Digital mockups showcasing the new system
Template files for future packaging (print-ready + editable)
Visual hierarchy and information placement standards
Consistency checklist for internal team use
-
By introducing a structured packaging system, Steelcoat achieved consistent branding across packaging SKUs. The guidelines streamlined production, significantly reduced errors, saved time during the artwork creation, final approval checks, and gave the team a reliable foundation for future product launches. I have worked on 20+ packaging skus implementing these new standards.
